"Dairy" we try to have some simple fun

We have a little experiment to share and hope you enjoy :).
It's called Dairy Swirls and here's what you'll need:

~ Milk
~ A large glass
~ 4 food colors
~ Vegetable oil

Step By Step:

1. Pour the milk into the glass. 2% or higher fat content works the best.

2. Place one drop of each food coloring in the milk around the sides of the glass.

3. Place a drop of vegetable oil in the middle.


4. Be careful not to move the glass or shake the table. In a short time the colors swirl and mix.

How does it work you ask?
Milk consists of mostly water and some fat. The oil is only soluble in the fat and because of this, it creates a current which causes the colors to circulate and mix creating really cool effects.

Keep Experimenting and try it with different fat percentages and see how it effects the patterns and the rate of swirling.
