Sports Often Cause Knee Injuries

A new way of repairing cartilage from knee injuries has been developed by Orthomimetics, a company in Cambridge, England and faculty at M.I.T. and University of Cambridge.
Wow! That is great international collaboration. Ready made plugs that imitate humane bone and cartilage are inserted microscopically. Stem cells from the bone marrow impregnates the pores of the implant, guiding the creation of bone on one side and cartilage on the other. The plug disappears in about six months producing a less traumatic surgery. Perhaps your son or daughter will become a researcher producing life support aides.
